S-911 PERSONAL LOCATOR
Alertline is providing a compact tracking device for personal safety and asset monitoring. The S-911 has state-of art technology combining wireless network and high sensitivity GPS for indoor and/or outdoor application.
The S-911 Personal Locator can be used for personal tracking, in the event of a personal attack or “kidnapping,” by the press of a button help is at hand. The unit sends a signal to our 24 Hr monitoring station showing your identification and position on a map so that the operator can inform the Gardaí. The S-911 can then be put in live tracking mode, and the person’s movements will be tracked and information passed to the Gardaí.
The S-911’s main use is to help in the reduction of missing children, kidnapping and providing help for critical situations where immediate assistance is a must.

TECHNOLOGY OVERVIEW
When people talk about “GPS,” they usually mean a GPS receiver unit, however the Global Positioning System (GPS) is actually a constellation of 27 Earth orbiting satellites. The U.S. military developed and implemented this satellite network as a military navigation system, but due to commercial demand opened it up to the commercial and private sectors. Each of the solar powered satellites circle the globe making two complete rotations every day. The orbits are arranged so that at any time, anywhere on Earth, there are always at least four satellites “visible” in the sky. A GPS receiver’s job is to locate four or more of these satellites, calculate the distance to each satellite, and use this information to determine its own location. This operation is based on a simple mathematical principle called trilateration.Once the receiver makes this calculation, it can tell you the latitude, longitude and altitude of its current position.
To make the navigation more user-friendly, most receivers will download this raw data into an application that transposes the data into a position on a map.A standard GPS receiver will not only place you on a map at any particular location, but will also trace your path across a map as you move. The receiver stays in constant communication with GPS satellites to see how your location is changing. With this information and its built-in clock, the receiver can give you several pieces of valuable information: How far you’ve travelled (odometer), How long you’ve been travelling, Your current speed (speedometer), Your average speed and a “snail” trail showing you exactly where you have travelled across the map.
